Teaching the Visions of Revelation
The final book of the New Testament contains rich imagery that can be complex to teach. These coloring sheets focus on the encouraging, hope-filled aspects of John's apocalyptic imagery. By coloring the symbols of Revelation, children and adults can engage with the promises of a new heaven and new earth without focusing on frightening end-times depictions.
The pages include prominent scripture quotes like "Behold I make all things new" to reinforce the core message of hope. Teachers can pair these sheets with lessons on the New Testament promises, allowing students to visualize the golden candlesticks and the open doors of salvation.
Bringing the New Jerusalem to Life
Revelation 21 provides a detailed description of the Holy City, making it a wonderful subject for coloring. You can use metallic gel pens or bright colored pencils to highlight the twelve gates and the radiant walls of the heavenly city.
The Revelation 21 scenes invite you to imagine a place of ultimate peace and divine light. Adding gold or silver to the ornate incense censer or the measuring rod adds a special touch to your artwork.
Symbols of Hope and New Creation
Adult colorists and Bible study groups can use these sheets to meditate on the promises of the new creation. Taking time to color these intricate designs offers a quiet way to reflect on the scripture quotes and the ultimate promise of restoration found at the end of the Bible. Key elements to focus on include:
- The Tree of Life bearing its fruit by the crystal stream.
- The angels sounding trumpets or measuring the city walls.
- The Alpha and Omega emblems representing the eternal nature of God.
- The peaceful lamb resting by still waters in heavenly scenes.
