Using Shepherd Pages in Sunday School
These illustrations are helpful for teaching biblical parables and stories. The Good Shepherd pages visually explain concepts of care and guidance, showing figures bandaging lambs or carrying them safely to the fold.
- Pair the Lord is my shepherd pages with Psalm 23 lessons.
- Use the young David the shepherd scenes when teaching Old Testament stories.
- Print the shepherds and angels sheets for Christmas nativity plays and December activities.
Coloring Flocks and Pastoral Landscapes
Beyond biblical stories, herding sheep is a historic and modern agricultural practice. The pastoral section features shepherds working with their trusty herding dogs to move flocks across the countryside. When coloring these outdoor scenes, try using a mix of greens and earth tones for the pastures and rolling hills.
The fluffy wool coats of the sheep can be shaded with light gray, cream, or pale blue to give them volume without making them completely white. For the herding breeds like the Australian Shepherd, use mottled browns, blacks, and whites to capture their distinct merle coats.
