Coloring the Fluffy White Coat

The Great Pyrenees is known for its thick, weather-resistant double coat. While these dogs are mostly white, leaving a coloring page completely blank might not be the most fun. To give the fur depth and volume, use light shades of cream, pale yellow, or soft gray for the shadows.

Pay attention to the thicker fur around the neck, often called the mane, which is especially prominent on male dogs. You can also add pale tan or badger markings on the ears and face, as many puppies and adults have these subtle patches.

Livestock Guardians at Work

Originally bred to deter wolves and bears in the snowy mountains, these dogs are natural protectors. Our farm guardian scenes show them interacting gently with vulnerable animals. When coloring these pages, you can contrast the bright white fur of the dog with the earthy tones of a rustic barnyard setting.

  • Use warm browns and reds for wooden porches and hay bales.
  • Color the sheep and little goats with soft creams and grays to distinguish them from the dog's coat.
  • Add vibrant greens to the pastures and clover fields where the puppies play.

Choosing the Right Page

Younger children might enjoy the simple outlines of a sleeping pup or a dog meeting little chicks. Older kids and adults can focus on the detailed floral mandala portrait or the realistic scenes of a majestic dog standing on a rocky peak.
